Somali Non-State Actors Coalition (SONSAC) is a non-profit and independent Non-State Actors Platform registered at Federal level and at Regional level in Ethiopia as a Non-State Actors Coalition. SONSAC was established in 2019 by various civil society organizations (CSOs). SONSAC has become a leading civil society platform mandated to be the bonds of Somali Regional State CSOs and raise the voice of non-state actors (NSAs), enabling them to have a vibrant civic space in policy dialogue. SONSAC creates a space where civil society meet in mind, heart and spirit to keep abreast of the challenges facing Somali Regional State in its transformation from clan-based structures to civic-based structures, and where peace, unity, governance and democracy present at a personal and community level. SONSAC's thematic programs are categorized under six major pillars and these are: CSOs coordination & capacity-building, advocacy, peace-building and conflict resolution, inclusiveness, democratization & human rights.
